On Tuesday, 16 February ‘16, the Pathways fraternity was honored to welcome Sri M and a group of Padyatris, representing an organization known as Manav Ekta Mission. An educationalist and a social reformer, Sri M ‘s ‘Walk of Hope” was flagged off on 12 January ‘15 on the birth anniversary of Swami Vivekananda. Starting from Kanyakumari and concluding in Srinagar, the walk will take almost one and half years to complete.
The mission of this walk is to bring unity within the diversity of our great country. The goal behind this Padyatra is to spread peace, harmony and acceptance across eleven states of India.
Sri M, along with the padyatris were cordially welcomed by the Faculty Members and the Student Council of the Middle and Senior Schools. Compered by Shivi Anand and Tanmay of Grade 6, the gathering commenced with a beautiful Bhajan,”Hari Bol” sung by a student of Grade 3. The words to this Bhajan have been written by Sri M himself. This was followed by a Multi-faith Prayer sung by some members of the Middle School faculty.
Thereafter, Capt. Rohit Sen Bajaj addressed the gathering and thanked Shri M and the Padyatris for visiting our school. The highlight of the visit was the inspirational speech of Sri M. He addressed the students and the faculty explaining the reason for this Padyatra in today’s vitiated atmosphere, where personal or political interests are destroying the secular fabric of the country.
Inspired by their visit, Pathways Gurgaon wishes Sri M and the Padyatris all the best towards successfully concluding their long journey and spreading the message of peace and harmony across India.
