The children of Kindergarten brought “smiles, cheer and hope” to less fortunate children by sharing the experience of giving. Sharing the experience of giving can be the most rewarding experience and this will further help the children to understand their responsibility towards the society. This was also a part of their Community Action and Service project (CAS).
The Kindergarteners took this initiative forward by helping the less fortunate by raising funds. The children made gift bags by reusing used boxes and sold them at the winter carnival held on Saturday 13th December 2014.
The teachers contacted a school for the underprivileged – Nayi Disha that gave them a list of things that they needed for the children studying there – it included stationery, pencil boxes ,notebooks ,tiffin boxes, soaps, toothpastes and toothbrushes The children of Kindergarten interacted with them and celebrated Christmas by singing carols with them. The children of ‘Nayidisha’ were ecstatic as this was the first time any school children interacted with them.
Excellent way of creating awareness among young minds!
