The event was graced by Capt Rohit Bajaj, School Director, Pathways School Gurgaon and Mr Prashant Jain, Director, Pathways Schools. The competition was declared open by Capt Rohit Bajaj with the lighting of the lamp. Encouraging the students, Capt. Rohit Bajaj said, ‘There is a certain untapped resource within us, called potential. This event is being hosted to tap this untapped potential’.  Mr Prashant Jain shared also his words of wisdom with the students and said  ‘It’s not always about the end product. It is about the process and the building because that is what makes it possible for the result to happen again’.DSC_0125

This was followed by another fun performance ‘I’ve Got a Robot’, a rap and song that was sung by the students of grade six students. The last performance was a dance on a medley of electric music and an old famous song, ‘(I’ve had) The Time of My Life’.DSC_0018

Soon, the competition started. The first round was an ‘Electronics’ round, where all the teams had to build their own small light-following robot that would sense and follow the light of a torch.  In the next round, the students were given a situation where passengers of a plane crash were stranded in the forest, and the robots, which were to be built of lego, needed to be built and programmed to travel through a maze and pick up these passengers.

The competition was organised to challenge logical thinking, creativity and problem-solving skills of the students. Robongiers engaged students at a much deeper level and the hands-on applications and creative design required to accomplish the task will be an experience unlike any that they have ever encountered. The students worked hard during the two days, motivated and determined to prove themselves; thereby fulfilling the purpose of this competition – tapping the untapped potential within us.

Manav Rachna International School, Faridabad clinched the trophy.DSC_0011DSC_0009
